Maybe you’ve noticed some new neighbors up in the far northern reaches of Leucadia’s main street corridor. Perhaps it was the “Keep Leucadia Jamming” billboard or that funky painted piano sitting outside near the Berri Brothers station that made you wonder, “What’s going on in there?”
We’re pleased to inform you that 1900 North Coast Highway 101 is now home to the headquarters of…drum roll please…California Music Studios! This world-class music business has been pairing students of all ages and abilities with highly talented independent music teachers for over 30 years.
Their teachers are of the highest quality and often independently established artists with their own successful music careers. Case and point, Summer Fun headliners Jonathan and Jared of Mattson 2 are offering lessons through California Music Studios. The twin brothers graduated from UCSD and UC Irvine with bachelors and masters degrees in music respectively.
Whether you’re wanting lessons in voice, piano, guitar, drums, strings, ukulele, brass, woodwinds or just about any other instrument, California Music Studios will hand match you with an ideal teacher for your musical development.
And local musicians be advised, California Music Studios is always on the lookout for qualified teachers who would love the benefit of a highly flexible teaching position.
California Music School Director of Education Cynthia Romoff explains the school’s core goal as “personally matching music teachers and students, finding the perfect fit for each student’s individual goals, style and personality, in teacher studios, in student homes and at our Leucadia location.”
It’s the love of the Leucadia that drew California Music Schools to the area and Cynthia takes great pleasure commuting through the 101 and stopping by one of the coffee shops, her favorite being the Pannikin. CMS is proud to be supporting Leucadia’s community music festival, Summer Fun on the 101, and looks forward to increasing performance opportunities within the community.
Whether you’ve never touched an instrument, like to mess around on the piano or have been playing guitar for years, Cynthia has some advice to share with you:
“All you really need to know you are ‘ready’ for music lessons is a love of music and a desire to sing or play. Everyone has access to music (it doesn’t cost a dime to sing in the shower!) but the right teacher can really help with getting through that initial learning curve, building skills, building proficiency, and developing artistic expression.”
Leucadia 101 Main Street Association welcomes California Music Studio to the neighborhood. Go jam with them at their Summer Fun booth on Saturday, June 23 at Leucadia Roadside Park.
